Miami will return to action tonight against Louisville, but regardless of the result the ‘Canes feel like they’re beginning to play their best basketball.
And it couldn’t come at a more perfect time of the year.
“Honestly, most importantly, it really doesn’t even matter how you play until it’s end of February, March,” guard Jordan Miller said. “Obviously winning games at these moments helps but we just want to make sure by the end of this season we’re playing our best basketball, and I think we’re on pace for that.”
Miami has won four of its last five games, with the only loss in that span decided by one possession on the road at Pittsburgh.
So even with the loss the Hurricanes are feeling pretty confident, especially as they’re reasonably close to playing their best basketball right now.
“I mean coach always says it’s a marathon, not a sprint,” Miller said. “You’re going to lose some games down the stretch but it’s how you bounce back is what’s going to decide what kind of team you are.”

Miami safely in field in latest ESPN bracketology
Joe Lunardi released his updated bracketology on Saturday morning, and there is every reason for Miami to feel perfectly confident.
The ‘Canes are safely in the field as a No. 5 seed, with Lunardi slotting Miami into the East Region. If that held, Miami would be slotted to Albany for opening-round games.
The Sweet 16 and Elite Eight would then be played in New York.
First up, though, Miami has tonight’s game against Louisville. It’s scheduled for a 7 ET tipoff on the ACC Network.
It’ll be the first of four remaining home games for the Hurricanes, with Wake Forest, Florida State and Pittsburgh also due for appearances in Coral Gables. Miami also has remaining away games at North Carolina and Virginia Tech.
