LOOK: Miami tight ends coach Stephen Field at commit's high school game

On Saturday, Avon (Conn.) Avon Old Farms is facing off against Windsor (Conn.) Loomis Chaffee School. There to spectate the contest is Miami tight ends coach Stephen Field.
One of Loomis Chaffee’s players is three-star tight end Jackson Carver, who committed to the Hurricanes on June 14. Another is four-star offensive tackle Olaus Alinen, who chose Alabama over Miami and other programs this summer.
Avon Old Farms has multiple talented prospects, as well. One of those recruits is three-star quarterback Ryan Puglisi, the No. 357 overall prospect in the 2024 On3 Consensus.
Field has found success recruiting his position during the 2023 cycle. Miami currently has commitments from Carver, Portland (Ore.) IMG Academy four-star tight end Riley Williams and Cypress (Texas) Bridgeland three-star tight end Reid Mikeska. Williams is the nation’s No. 2 tight end, according to the 2023 On3 Consensus.

The Hurricanes’ 2023 recruiting class includes 17 commitments and is composed of one five-star, eight four-stars and eight three-stars. The highest-rated prospect in the group is Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy Five-Star Plus+ offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa, the No. 5 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus.
The Hurricanes’ class is No. 9 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 2 in the ACC. A main reason for Miami’s high ranking is holding pledges from five top-80 prospects, including Williams.
Field is in his fourth season with the Hurricanes. One of the players he has mentored in Coral Gables is Brevin Jordan, a fifth-round pick of the Houston Texas in the 2021 NFL Draft. He also helped flip top-110 tight end Jaleel Skinner from Alabama in the 2022 cycle.
