Mario Cristobal calls Florida State's offense 'explosive'

Miami and Florida State are operating in different stratospheres offensively. The Hurricanes have yet to put up more than 24 points against a power conference opponent and have been marred by QB injuries. Meanwhile, FSU averages over 30 points a game and just put up 41 in their last outing — granted, it was against pitiful and coach-less Georgia Tech, but still. The Seminoles can put points on the board.
Miami head coach Mario Cristobal is very aware of the in-state rival’s lethality on that end of the field. Ahead of the intra-Floridian matchup this weekend, Cristobal was asked about the FSU offense and what he respects so much about it. Of course, that list was a pretty lengthy one.
So here was what Cristobal had to say praising the Seminole offensive unit:

“It’s balanced, explosive. Yeah, very explosive, you know. They’ve certainly done a really good job over the last three years accumulating talent, getting explosive players on the perimeter and also in their backfield. Their offensive line, they’ve certainly done a really good job, just increasing the size of their offensive line, athleticism, power out front.”
Very complimentary of the FSU offensive line, which Cristobal sees as the driving force for whatever they want to do with their other playmakers.

“And their quarterback is playing at a really high level. They certainly present to a lot of issues, you know, week to week. They certainly game plan according to what they’re seeing, and they’ve done a good job finding holes in opponent’s defenses and exposing stuff. And they’ve made big plays. Contested catches, broken tackles, they really did perform at that high level.”
The ‘Noles are always a talented group on both sides of the ball, but especially on offense this season with the experience they have at QB in addition to the blue-chip athletes they have touching the ball.
Stopping this group is going to be a tall task for a Miami defense that’s been wildly inconsistent. Now, the ‘Canes have turned in a few decent performances in that phase of the football game, but far from anything consistent. Mario Cristobal’s group will need to bring the intensity on D for 60 minutes on Saturday night.
