Miami first-year tight ends coach Cody Woodiel was back on the recruiting trail Monday, visiting Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt County High according to the school’s team social media.

Colquitt County has multiple Power 5 prospects in the 2024 class, including Florida State four-star tight end commit Landen Thomas, four-star receiver and former Georgia commit Ny Carr and three-star Duke EDGE pledge Tyshon Reed.

Carr decommitted from Georgia on Sunday evening and is being heavily recruited by schools around the Southeast — Miami being one of them. Carr is the nation’s No. 62 overall prospect and No. 12 receiver in the 2024 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 11 player in Georgia.

Carr decommits from Georgia

Carr sent a statement to On3 regarding his commitment.

“I would like to thank the entire staff and community at the University of Georgia,” Carr told On3. “With that being said, I have decided to reopen my recruitment as I feel this is best for my future. Please respect my decision.”

Carr currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $125,000. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Thomas part of elite FSU class

Thomas is also a former Georgia commit. He flipped from the ‘Dawgs to the ‘Noles back in April and is one of the highest-rated recruits in the Florida State class.

“I feel like they can get me the ball in all type of different ways,” Thomas told On3. “I feel more comfortable down there, and they are trending in the right direction. FSU is going win a national championship soon. I made the final decision Sunday, but I have been thinking about it for about two months now.”

He is the nation’s No. 33 overall prospect and No. 1 tight end in the 2024 cycle. Thomas currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $203,000.

Reed is pledged to a Duke football team that is hot on the gridiron and looking to build momentum on the recruiting trail. The Blue Devils are undefeated with a season-opening blowout win over Clemson and will host Notre Dame this weekend as well as ESPN’s College GameDay pregame show.

Reed is the nation’s No. 1304 prospect and No. 104 edge rusher. He does not currently have a publicly listed On3 NIL Valuation.
