Miami CB Emmanuel Karnley enters NCAA transfer portal

Miami cornerback Emmanuel Karnley entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. He just arrived in December from Arizona.
After playing his high school football at Pittsburg in California, Karnley became a three-star recruit in the Class of 2023. He was the 81st-ranked cornerback and the 824th-ranked player overall in that recruiting cycle. While in high school, Karnley also played wide receiver.
Coming out of high school, Karnley chose to go to Arizona ahead of USC and Washington among other schools. Karnley originally went to play for Jedd Fisch at Arizona, taking a redshirt during the 2023 season. However, following that season, Fisch left for Washington and was replaced by Brent Brennan. It was under Brennan that Karnley played last season before deciding to transfer to find a new program.
Still, Karnley flashed his talent as just a redshirt freshman. He had 16 total tackles on the season and was able to break up five passes for the year.

Emmanuel Karnley latest Miami defender to enter portal
Karnley was the latest Miami defender to enter the transfer portal. Elias Rudolph, an EDGE rusher, entered last week.
As a member of the Class of 2024, Rudolph was a three-star recruit out of Cincinnati (Ohio) Taft, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 14 overall prospect in the state, the No. 39 EDGE in the class and the No. 404 overall prospect in the class.
Rudolph will look for a new opportunity following his lone season in Coral Gables. Since he redshirted, someone could get a mileage out of him.
