Miami has already doubled its 2025 recruiting class in June thanks to the addition of six prospects who announced their commitments this month.

The Hurricanes are making moves on the trail — and Mario Cristobal’s program is now trending for another top target, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).

Entering the month, Auburn was the team trending heavily for Savannah (Ga.) Benedictine Military four-star EDGE Herbert “Third” Scroggins. The Tigers looked to be closing in on the blue-chipper, but the tides now look to be turning in favor of the 305.

Scroggins took an official visit to Auburn on June 14, but rounded out his June with an OV to Miami the following weekend. He had previously set a commitment date for June 25, but that has now been postponed. Since the Miami official, three picks have been logged in the RPM in favor of the Canes.

“It was amazing, man – I’m glad I took this visit,” Scroggins told CaneSport. “The people, the place here, it’s different. You can really open up and talk with them. It was amazing the whole time.”

Miami also hosted Scroggins back in April for its spring game. He told CaneSport ahead of his official that communication has remained high with the Hurricanes staff and the ACC program was cemented as one of his top schools — North Carolina and Georgia Tech also made his top four alongside Miami and Auburn.

Scroggins is the No. 375 overall prospect and No. 33 EDGE in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 43 player in Georgia.

More on Miami’s big June

Five of the six commits for the Canes this month have been in-state products, headlined by a pair of four-stars. Sanford Seminole four-star interior offensive lineman Max Buchanan is the latest to join the class and is a top-100 overall prospect in the On300. Miami Central four-star safety Amari Wallace is also in the mix as a top-250 recruit and top-25 player at his position.

“I chose Miami for the coaching that I can receive at every position on the offensive line,” Buchanan told On3.

Birmingham (Ala.) Parker three-star cornerback Timothy Merritt was the first to commit this month. Other June pledges include Miami Central three-star linebacker Ezekiel Marcelin, Orlando Christian three-star offensive tackle Demetrius Campbell and Orlando Edgewater three-star OT Jaden Wilkerson.

Miami’s class currently ranks No. 19 in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Seven of the 12 total commits are four-stars, highlighted by Tampa Armwood four-star running back Girard Pringle, Kissimmee (Fla.) Osceola four-star linebacker Elijah Melendez and Leo (Ind.) four-star tight end Brock Schott.
