Miami HC Mario Cristobal visits 2025 5-star WR Jaime Ffrench
Jacksonville Mandarin five-star wide receiver Jaime Ffrench is once again one of the top prospects on the board in the 2025 cycle following his decommitment from Alabama on Jan. 14.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder holds interest from all of the top programs in the nation and has picked up offers from Colorado and USC since backing off his pledge to the Crimson Tide last weekend. On Thursday, Miami head coach Mario Cristobal dropped by to visit the elite wideout:
Ffrench is set to visit the Hurricanes next weekend as a part of a stacked Junior Day lineup in Coral Gables. He told CaneSport that Miami WRs coach Kevin Beard called him on Monday night and held a two-hour conversation with the top target.
“Miami, coach Beard, and coach (Mario) Cristobal have been on me a lot,” Ffrench told CaneSport. “I talked to coach Beard today (Monday) for a good hour or two. We’re on the phone for a while, and Miami hits me up very often. Miami’s definitely in (it) for sure.”
Each and every school gunning for Ffrench’s pledge
Ffrench doesn’t appear to be in a hurry to commit for a second time. He’ll have plenty of options when the time comes, and he’s looking to explore as many avenues as possible along the way. The likes of Alabama, Florida State, Florida and Ohio State have all had him on campus multiple times throughout his recruitment.

“Schools like Georgia are recently hearing about the (Holmon) Wiggins news … Florida State, Miami, Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State … there’s a lot of eyes coming back around and doing a double-check,” Ffrench said of who has been in contact with him earlier this month. “There’s a lot of schools making their rounds back around.”
Georgia head coach Kirby Smart was in to visit Ffrench on Wednesday, as the Bulldogs try and wedge themselves near the top of his recruitment. Competition will be stout until Ffrench signs his National Letter of Intent.
Ffrench is the No. 14 overall prospect and No. 3 WR in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 2 player in Florida.
He has an On3 NIL Valuation of $138K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
