Miami has landed commitments from four offensive linemen since May. The Hurricanes are now trending for another trench monster — who also happens to be of the top uncommitted prospects on the interior this cycle.

Las Vegas Bishop Gorman four-star IOL SJ Alofaituli rounded out his official visit schedule with another trip to Coral Gables on June 21. On Sunday, On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong became the second insider to log a pick in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine in favor of the Hurricanes winning out for the 6-foot-2, 290-pounder.

Michigan and Nebraska also had Alofaituli on campus for OVs in June, but it’s Mario Cristobal’s program that looks to be in position. Touted OL coach Alex Mirabal and the Miami staff have shown love to the blue-chipper — who told CaneSport earlier this month that he’s looking to make his decision before his senior season.

“I’m liking it down here for sure,” Alofaituli said to CaneSport following his OV. “It was really the love and the coaches, going to my family and the plan they had for me over here, just the plan, you know? It’s something special for sure. The coaches were loving as always, love my family, love me.”

Alofaituli is the No. 71 overall prospect and No. 4 IOL in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 3 player in Nevada.

“It’s just the Gorman and Miami connection,” Alofaituli previously said of Miami to On3’s Chad Simmons. “They had Brevin Jordan and have Elija Lofton now. There’s a lot of Bishop Gorman kids that go out there. Coach Mirabal is also a really good coach.”

Miami has added eight commits in June — four of whom are four-stars. Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna four-star cornerback Chris Ewald is the No. 20 corner in the cycle and headlines the new additions.
