LOOK: Miami Football unveils new Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Locker Room
The Miami Hurricanes football team unveiled the new locker room this week, which was dubbed the Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson locker room in 2013. The team posted pictures of the players’ reactions to seeing the brand-new fixtures on Twitter and from the look of them, they’re loving it.
In the video the team also posted to Twitter, Miami players can be heard calling the locker room the “most beautiful in CFB” and saying “about time.”
The Hurricanes opened fall camp on Aug. 6. Along with the locker room upgrade, the Miami program also announced a $1 million gift. It will go toward a state-of-the-art renovation of the men’s and women’s basketball weight room. Reports also indicate that Miami is ready to invest $100 million on facilities upgrades.
“You should see these renderings,” Mario Cristobal said of the upgrades. “We already started clearing out the areas and finalizing some things as we move forward. It is moving really fast. It puts us on a different level and will be as good or better as anything in the country. And that is an arm’s race because every five years you are saying that again.”

Miami and the Rock
Dwayne Johnson has a very special connection with the University of Miami. It’s hard to think about ‘The U’ without thinking about ‘The Rock.’
The Rock was a defensive lineman for Miami and part of the 1991 national championship team. Following his departure from The U, Johnson became a successful wrestler and then one of the biggest actors in Hollywood. He likes to give back to the Hurricane’s program, including several large donations to the school and athletics programs.
