The Miami Hurricanes and head football coach Mario Cristobal, have announced the hiring of a new strength and conditioning coach. On Monday, Cristobal announced that he would be hiring Aaron Feld to take over the position for the 2022 season.
Subsequently, that means that the current holder of that position, David Feeley, is now on the open market. After the news broke, Feeley delivered this message via his personal Twitter thanking former Hurricanes head coach Manny Diaz.
“I want to thank Manny Diaz for the amazing opportunity to work at the U. For 3 years, I got to work with OUTSTANDING coaches and INCREDIBLE young men that changed me for the better. It was an honor to serve them. Best of luck to the University of Miami in the future.”
Feld makes the journey from Eugene, OR, as Cristobal did, to join the Hurricanes’ staff. The duo spent the last four years together with the ducks, compiling a 35- 12 overall record, winning two PAC 12 championships, and also winners of the 2020 Rose Bowl.
Oregon makes a hire
Another hire to Dan Lanning’s Oregon coaching staff has been made official.
On Monday, the university announced the hire of Joe Lorig as the Ducks’ special teams and nickles coach.
It was reported last week that Lanning was targeting Lorig, who served as Penn State’s special team’s coordinator last season.
An Edmonds, Wash., native, Lorig began his coaching career in the state of Oregon. He played cornerback at Western Oregon University in nearby Monmouth from 1994-95, and started coaching there soon after his playing career ended.

Lorig coached the Wolves’ defensive backs for two years before becoming a position coach at Idaho State, where he eventually served as the school’s defensive coordinator from 2003-2006.
He has since served in a wide array of roles and spent time at UTEP, Central Washington University, Arizona State, and Utah State.
From 2016-18, Lorig served as special teams coordinator and outside linebackers coach at Memphis and his tenure there overlapped with Lanning’s.
Oregon has now officially announced the hires of Adrian Klemm as its offensive line coach, Demetrice Martin as cornerbacks coach and recruiting coordinator, Matt Powledge as co-defensive coordinator, and Kenny Dillingham as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
