Miami star Isaiah Wong has revealed his decision on the NBA Draft, opting to take his talents to the next level. In a heartfelt message posted on his personal Instagram account, Wong explained his choice to move on from the University of Miami.

“I knew when this season began the University of Miami had something to prove,” started Wong. “I also knew my teammates and I had what it took to be one of the top teams in the country. By taking the hand dealt to us and believing in something bigger than ourselves, we were able to reach the Elite Eight for the first time in school history.

“We learned that sacrificing yourself for your team and the game you love through late nights and early mornings in the gym will pay you back tenfold, even when you don’t know if you fought enough to make it through.

“Coach L, the entire staff and the awesome fans gave us everything we needed to believe we could do what we set out to do. They gave us the confidence to push through to the end. Although we reached so many achievements together, there are still big things to come both for me and The U. It’s an honor to forever be a Miami Hurricane.

“None of this exists without the support of my family. My mother, LaChelle, and my brothers, Terrence, Brian and Elijah, as well as my mentor, Terrell Myers, were there every moment it got rough. They invested everything they had to ensure I was able to give the best of myself at all times. Thank you for always believing in me, even when others doubted me. You have always been my rock and foundation; I hope to one day give you the world and life you deserve.

“After deep thought and careful consideration, taking full advantage of all we achieved this year, I will be declaring for the 2022 NBA Draft, while maintaining my eligibility. I’m extremely confident in what lies ahead. Let’s get it!”
