Miami jumps to No. 7 in On3 Consensus Recruiting Rankings
The recruiting roll for Mario Cristobal and Miami hit a fever pitch on Saturday afternoon. The Hurricanes landed their sixth blue-chip commitment in the past two weeks when top-40 Tacoma (Wash.) IMG Academy EDGE Jayden Wayne chose Miami over Alabama, Oregon, Georgia, Michigan State and LSU.
His announcement pushes the ‘Canes up four spots to No. 7 in the latest On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings. In the process, they jump LSU, Oregon, Penn State and USC.
Wayne, the No. 36 prospect in the On3 Consensus, is the third prospect ranked inside the top 50 nationally to jump on board with the Hurricanes in this class.
He joins five-star IMG Academy (Fla.) offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa and four-star Pittsburg (Calif.) quarterback Jaden Rashada among Cristobal’s highest-ranked commitments since coming to Coral Gables last December.

Joining that trio are four-star Portland (Ore.) tight end Riley Williams, top-125 wide receiver Nathaniel Joseph, and Melbourne (Fla.) four-star cornerback Robert Stafford, all of whom committed to Miami since June 28.
The Hurricanes also hold commitments from blue-chippers Robby Washington (Miami, Fla.) and Antonio Tripp (Owings Mills, Md.), as well as five other three-star prospects.
Top targets still remain for Miami
Miami looks to be far from done, though. The Hurricanes are trending for five-star Brockton (Mass.) offensive tackle Samson Okunlola, three-star offensive tackle Tommy Kinsler, four-star defensive lineman Rueben Bain, four-star linebacker Raul Aguirre, and top-50 EDGE Malik Bryant.
Of those, both Kinsler and Bryant are expected to make their decisions in the next few weeks.
