Miami lands commitment from star SEC running back transfer
Former Ole Miss running back Henry Parrish will transfer to the Miami Hurricanes, he announced Sunday. He spent two seasons with the Rebels before deciding to enter the portal this offseason.
“First and foremost, I would like to thank God for his many blessings,” Parrish wrote. “To my family and friends, I am grateful for your love and support. I am forever grateful to the Ole Miss fan base for an amazing two seasons in the city of Oxford.
“Last but not least, I would like to thank my Ole Miss coaches and teammates for development and friendship. Especially coach Lane Kiffin, thank you for the opportunity and love that you provided me.
“With that being said, I would like to announce that I plan to enroll at the University of Miami. I’m looking forward to a great opportunity in Miami and making the Crib great!”
Parrish played in 21 games in his Ole Miss career, running for 814 yards and five touchdowns before opting to transfer. In 2021, he set career highs with 551 rushing yards and 173 receiving yards to help bring his career yardage over 1,000 yards.

A former four-star recruit, Parrish was the No. 27 overall running back in the 2020 class according to On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average. He announced that he would transfer after Ole Miss brought in former five-star running back Zach Evans from TCU.
Parrish is the second Rebels runner to depart after Jerrion Early declared for the NFL draft.
The move to the Hurricanes is a homecoming for Parrish, who is a Miami native. He helped to lead Columbus High School to a state championship during his senior season in 2019 after rushing for more than 2,000 yards and 28 touchdowns. Miami did offer him out of high school, as did Florida and Florida State.
The running back transfer will get his first opportunity to make an impact at Miami on Sept. 3 when the Hurricanes open 2022 against Bethune-Cookman.
