Miami moves up to No. 20 in On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings
After securing one of the nation’s best classes in the 2023 cycle, Miami is beginning to rise in the rankings for the class of 2024.
Kenwood Academy (Chicago, Ill.) four-star EDGE Marquise Lightfoot committed to the Hurricanes on Monday. With his decision, Miami moved up six spots to No. 20 in the 2024 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Lightfoot is the second top-100 prospect and fourth blue-chip recruit to join Miami’s 2024 class.
“Miami stood out with what they offered on and off the field,” Lightfoot told On3. “They showed me that off the field I can still live my life as a teenager whilst there focusing on my career which is the end goal of going to the NFL. They have that goal in their mind.
“When I was down there, I saw the vision that all of the coaches and players were talking about. I want to be a part of getting the U back to what it was.”
Miami rising after busy spring
The 6-foot-5, 220-pound EDGE is the No. 71 overall prospect and No. 5 EDGE according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He joins Tuscaloosa County (Northport, Ala.) running back Kevin Riley as the second top-100 commit to pledge to the Hurricanes’ class.
