Miami offers 5-star offensive tackle Josh Conerly Jr.
Seattle Rainer Beach five-star offensive tackle Josh Conerly Jr. is not committing until February, which is why the top recruit has flown under the radar during the lead-up to the early signing period.
But Miami isn’t waiting any longer to get in on the action with the state of Washington’s top recruit.
The Hurricanes offered a scholarship Monday to Conerly.
Conerly is the No. 22 overall player in the country, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Humble (Texas) Summer Creek’s Kelvin Banks and Charlestown’s (Ind.) Kiyaunta Goodwin are the only two offensive tackles ranked ahead of him the country.
Josh Conerly Jr. told On3’s Chad Simmons over a month ago that he was looking at five schools: Washington, Oregon, Michigan, Oklahoma, and USC.
Four of those schools have undergone coaching changes with the Wolverines the only one that still has the same head coach from the start of last season.

New Miami head coach Mario Cristobal was an offensive lineman for the Hurricanes in college. The two developed a relationship while Cristobal was at Oregon.
“Coach Mario Cristobal is a great head coach and he knows a lot about offensive line too. We have great communication also,” Josh Conerly Jr. told Simmons.
Miami has a small recruiting class at the moment with only eight commits. One of those verbals is an offensive lineman in Sandersville (Ga.) Washington County three-star offensive tackle Falentha Carswell.
The Hurricanes also hold commitments from Valdosta (Ga.) Lowndes four-star quarterback Jacurri Brown, Murfreesboro (Tenn.) Oakland four-star wide receiver Isaiah Horton and Mandeville (La.) three-star wide receiver Landon Ibieta on the offensive side of the football.
