Miami quarterback Jacurri Brown is expected to return for the 2024 season rather than enter the NCAA transfer portal, according to a report from On3’s Pete Nakos.

Jacurri Brown played in the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl last week for the Hurricanes, having mixed results.

The talented sophomore went 20-of-31 passing for 181 yards with one touchdown and one interception. He was sacked twice. He also ran 15 times for 57 yards and two touchdowns.

He’ll presumably get a chance to compete for the starting job next season with veteran Tyler Van Dyke departing via the transfer portal, committing to Wisconsin.

Jacurri Brown also played some as a freshman for Miami in 2022, when he went 27-of-45 passing for 230 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions. He also ran for 223 yards that season.

Prior to enrolling at Miami, Jacurri Brown was a four-star prospect and the No. 308 overall recruit in the 2022 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

Jacurri Brown also checked in as the No. 18 quarterback in the class and the No. 28 overall player from the state of Georgia, hailing from Valdosta (GA) Lowndes.

Track transfer portal activity

As of January 2nd, 2,073 FBS players have entered the Transfer Portal.

While the NCAA Transfer Portal database is private, the On3 Network has streamlined the reporting process tracking player movement. If you find yourself asking, ‘How can I track transfer portal activity?’ our well-established network of reporters and contacts across college athletics keeps you up to speed in several ways, from articles written about players as they enter and exit the transfer portal or find their new destination, to our social media channels, to the On3 Transfer Portal.

The transfer portal wire provides a real-time feed of player activity, including basic player profile information, transfer portal ranking and original On3 Industry recruiting ranking, as well as NIL valuation (name, image and likeness).

The On3 Transfer Portal Rankings allow for you to filter the On3 Industry Rankings to find the best of the best in the portal, starting with Overall Top Players.

You can dive deeper into the rankings and filter by position whether it is Quarterback, Running Back, Wide Receiver, Tight End, Offensive Tackle, Interior Offensive Line, Edge, Defensive Line, Linebacker, Cornerback, Safety, Athlete, Kicker, Punter, or Long Snapper you’re looking for.
