One of the top offensive linemen in The Boot is heading to Coral Gables.

On3 Industry Ranking top-40 offensive tackle Kavion Broussard committed to Miami on Sunday evening — just days ahead of his senior season at Louisiana powerhouse Zachary (La.) High School.

Broussard pledged to the Hurricanes over the likes of Florida State, Missouri, Mississippi State, and Louisiana-Lafayette. The 6-foot-6, 278-pound offensive lineman took a closer look at several of his top options throughout the off-season, but all roads led Broussard to the U.

“Being recruited by Miami is great. They stand out to me so much,” Broussard told On3.

“They have some of the best coaches in the country at Miami and they know how to develop really good offensive linemen,” he continued. “That’s what makes you feel wanted and what makes a place like that so great.”

Broussard played his junior season at left tackle for Zachary (La.) at 230 pounds. Multiple Hurricanes’ coaching staff members started to recruit the On3 Industry Ranking’s No. 40-rated tackle then — and have continued to press the right buttons with Broussard, who will suit up for the Broncos as a senior tipping the scales at 280 pounds.

Those coaches include OL coach Alex Mirabal, Dennis Smith, Stephen Field, and Mario Cristobal.

“I am close with all of the coaches over at Miami,” said Broussard, the No. 19 overall player from Louisiana in this Class of 2024.

“I’ve been talking to them and they have been recruiting me since I was only 225 pounds,,” he explained. “I know they really believe that I’m the best left tackle in the state and that I’m really slept on. Going to Miami, I know that they know how to develop the best offensive linemen.”

Broussard will make his first visit to Coral Gables on Sept. 9 when Miami hosts Texas A&M for one of biggest early-season games of the college football season.

“For me, it came down to the coaches they have and how they’ve developed their offensive linemen in the past,” Broussard said. “It is the best and I just feel comfortable about Miami. They’ve had some down seasons, but they’re on the come-up right and they have one of the best facilities in the world, and being in Miami, what’s not to like about it?”

Broussard checks in as the No. 620 overall player in the country, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies
