Miami has revealed its spring football schedule, as well as the date of their spring game. The season is getting closer by each passing day for the Hurricanes.
“Miami’s spring football schedule culminating with the spring game on April 16. Site TBA,” tweeted Manny Navarro of The Athletic.
The season can’t come soon enough for Miami. Things are looking up with the hiring of former Oregon coach Mario Cristobal, who is building an impressive staff of successful assistant coaches. With a bevy of great teachers on the staff, the Hurricanes could be a dark horse in 2022.
Over recent seasons, the college football world has been waiting for Miami to take that next step. Next season, we could see the foundation laid for the Hurricanes to elevate their program to previous heights.
Kirk Herbstreit on Miami: ‘I like what Miami’s doing.’
Moreover, Miami is having a big offseason with new head coach Mario Cristobal and two huge coordinators to its staff. It especially caught the attention one ESPN analyst.

Kirk Herbstreit, during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, said he’s impressed with how Miami’s offseason is going. Not only did the Hurricanes land Cristobal, but they also brought in Clemson athletic director Dan Radakovich, Auburn defensive coordinator Kevin Steele and Michigan offensive coordinator Josh Gattis.
Things are coming together in the 305. Herbstreit is certainly impressed, too.
“Miami, now, they have opened up the pursestrings, which is very unusual for them,” Herbstreit said. “They went out and hired Clemson’s athletic director, they went out and got Mario Cristobal from Oregon who’s a former alum. Played there back in the glory days in the early ’90s. And he’s killing it in recruiting. Now, they went out and they got Kevin Steele, who’s a really, really good defensive coordinator. He was most recently at Auburn when Auburn was playing great. Then, they just ended up getting the new offensive coordinator, Josh Gattis, from Michigan.
“In order to be able to do that, they’re paying, which they’ve never done in the past. So the Canes trying to make some noise. I hope it works out for them. I like what Miami’s doing. It’s good for the sport.”
As you can see, Miami is turning heads throughout the college football world. The future is bright for the Hurricanes.
