Miami transfer defensive back Myles Mooyoung signs with Coastal Carolina Chanticleers
Miami Hurricanes transfer defensive back Myles Mooyoung signed with the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers on Christmas Eve, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. He snatched one interception in the 2024 campaign.
Mooyoung picked the Hurricanes over offers from Boston College and Washington State coming out of high school, among other teams. He played his high school football at Chicago Kenwood Academy, before transferring to Wylie E. Groves for his final high school season.
On December 9th, Mooyoung took to Twitter to announce that he was officially in the transfer portal.
“Officially in the Transfer Portal! #Blessed” Mooyoung tweeted.
“First and foremost, I wold like to thank God for blessing me with the ability to play the sport I love and my family for their unwavering love and support. Thank you to the University of Miami for allowing me to fulfill a lifelong dram and goal of mine to be a Miami Hurricanes. I am grateful for my time here and am appreciative for the opportunity to grow academically and athletically,” wrote Mooyoung.
“I want to express my deepest gratitude to the entire coaching staff for developing me on and off the field. To my teammates, I have the most respect and love for you all. You guys truly made this experience special. The bonds we have build and our brotherhood will last forever,” Mooyoung continued.

“With that being said, I will be entering the transfer portal with one year of eligibility,” Mooyoung wrote. “Thank you for everything.”
Mooyoung spent four seasons as a redshirt junior at The ‘U. However, he saw limited action while with the Hurricanes. He did record his first collegiate statistics this fall, though, with two tackles and an interception.

Miami finished 10-2 overall and they’ll be playing in the upcoming Pop Tarts Bowl. Coastal Carolina finished their season 6-7 overall. They lost 44-15 to the UTSA Roadrunners in the Myrtle Beach Bowl on December 23rd. Their 2024 season is finished.
