Miami transfer Jayden Wayne is visiting Washington this weekend, he has confirmed to On3.

Wayne is checking out the Huskies after entering the transfer portal earlier this week as he continues to search for his new school.

The Washington native was ranked as a four-star recruit and the No. 85 overall player in the country in the class of 2023, according to the On3 Industry rankings.

On3’s Pete Nakos reported earlier Thursday that Jayden Wayne has visits lined up with UCLA, Cal, Pitt and Kansas.

Wayne logged stats in six games for the Hurricanes as a true freshman in 2023. He finished his time with Miami having recorded 13 total tackles, including four solo stops and 0.5 sacks.

Before enrolling at Miami, Wayne was a four-star recruit out of IMG Academy by way of Tacoma, Washington.

According to Wayne’s On3 bio, Wayne emerged early on in his high school career as one of the best players in the state of Washington. He started as a freshman at Lincoln Way and was named an Adidas All-American and was even invited to play in the All-American Bowl.

Wayne chose Miami over offers from Oregon, LSU, Georgia, Alabama, Michigan State, Auburn, Florida, Florida State and Tennessee among others. He has said that his time at IMG Academy helped him transition to major Division I college football because it replicates the college experience so much.

Wayne also put on 20 pounds last offseason to help his success on the edge, going from 220 to 240 before ever taking a snap for Mario Cristobal’s squad. Now, he’ll look to put that power to use elsewhere as he looks for a new home out of the NCAA transfer portal.

Washington safety Vincent Holmes withdraws from NCAA Transfer Portal

Miami already got some good news in regards to the transfer portal recently.

Washington safety Vincent Holmes has withdrawn from the NCAA Transfer Portal, On3 has learned. His retention is a big win for new head coach Jedd Fisch and his staff.

Holmes, a class of 2023 signee, will have multiple years of eligibility remaining. And this was Holmes’ second flirtation with the portal.

He entered the transfer portal during the January window, only to withdraw shortly after. And this time it was less than a day before Holmes reversed course.

Holmes played high school football at San Jacinto (Calif.) High School, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 290 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
