New Iberia (La.) Westgate four-star cornerback Jaboree Antoine is just days away from his commitment announcement, and a new team is trending as the favorite to land him.

Antoine committed to LSU in January before backing off that pledge late last month. The Tigers, along with Miami and Florida State, have been the three main contenders since he reopened his recruitment.

Both of the out-of-state schools hosted him for official visits, while he was committed to Brian Kelly and Co., with both making strong cases to him. However, on Thursday he told On3’s Chad Simmons his decision will come down to LSU and Miami.

And soon after, Simmons and Florida State recruiting insider Michael Langston both logged picks in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) in favor of the Hurricanes. That places them as the new favorite to land Antoine, per the RPM.

“Miami was my first offer, so since they offered, they have recruited me hard,” Antoine said of the program in Coral Gables. “They always check in me and my family. We have some great relationships with the coaching staff. The coaches have gotten to know me as a player, they keep it real with me and how they have gotten to know me and my family means a lot.”

Antoine’s decision between the two programs on Saturday won’t be easy though, as the in-state Tigers have remained heavily in pursuit — and will even if he commits to the ‘Canes.

“Since I opened back up, LSU has been coming hard,” he told Simmons. “Overall, things have come more together between me and the staff. There has been good communication since I decommitted and they are recruiting me even harder. Nothing has really changed and LSU is still a top school for me.”

Jaboree Antoine Recruiting Profile

The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Antoine is the No. 87 overall prospect in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranks as the nation’s No. 9 cornerback and the No. 2 recruit in the state of Louisiana.

On3’s Scouting and Rankings team has this to say about him as a prospect:

“Long-bodied versatile defensive back prospect with tremendous cover skills and ability to break up passes at the catch point. Very comfortable in man coverage, sticky defender. Excellent field vision and ability to break to the football once the quarterback pulls the trigger. Unverified long speed but is a smooth mover with twitch that can play as a center field safety. Also displays impressive movement skills when playing quarterback for his high school team as well. Willing tackler when working downhill but not overly violent. Verified top-end speed could assist in determining his ceiling but has an extremely high floor regardless.”
