The hometown team is trending for a coveted defensive back in the 2025 recruiting class.

Florida State insider Michael Langston has logged an expert prediction for Miami to land four-star safety Bryce Fitzgerald. The Hurricanes now lead for Fitzgerald at 92.5% in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). He is set to announce his commitment later this evening.

Fitzgerald is the nation’s No. 122 overall prospect, No. 14 safety and No. 21 recruit from Florida in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He is the No. 101 recruit nationwide and No. 8 safety in the 2025 On300.

“It’s the alumni, coaching staff, coach (Chevis) Jackson (at Miami),” Fitzgerald told On3 last month. “They just believe in me and trust that I can play any position on the field.”

Fitzgerald officially visited Miami back in June.

“A lot of times when I go to Miami, they bring up Columbus,” Fitzgerald told On3 after his OV, when he was hosted by former teammate Daylen Russell. “I walked in my first day here and everybody was just talking about Columbus. Them bringing the Columbus experience back to Miami would be good.”
