February is the month that’s annually utilized to celebrate Black History Month across the United States. On Wednesday, the Miami Hurricanes unveiled some special, colorful basketball uniforms for their men’s and women’s basketball teams to celebrate Black History Month. The men’s team will be wearing the jerseys on Saturday, February 18th against Wake Forest. The women’s team will be wearing the special uniforms on Thursday, February 16th, when they suit up against the Clemson Tigers.

Check them out here.

Miami’s men’s basketball team has been playing like one of the best teams in the conference lately. The ‘Canes currently sit behind the Pittsburgh Panthers and the Virginia Cavaliers in the ACC Standings. Miami will definitely be a team to watch in the upcoming ACC Tournament and the NCAA Tournament, as they are loaded with a number of explosive scorers that can drop 20 points on a given night. They recently had Isaiah Wong (21 points), Norchad Omier (21 points), and Nijel Pack (22 points) each pour in over 20 points against the Louisville Cardinals.

Miami has been playing some dominant basketball

Since losing a close one to Pitt, 71-68, Miami has rattled off five straight wins, including an 81-59 beatdown they dished out to the Duke Blue Devils. The Hurricanes had four players score in double figures in that game, Norchad Omier (17 points), Wooga Popular (14 points), Isaiah Wong (11 points), and Jordan Miller (16 points). While last year’s Elite Eight run will be difficult to replicate, the Hurricanes are loaded with more than enough depth to make the Sweet 16 in this year’s NCAA Tournament.

They’re one of the deepest, most talented teams in the ACC and it’ll be interesting to see how their season finishes out, no question about it. Up next, after facing Wake Forest, Miami will travel to Blacksburg to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies on Feb. 21, which is always a difficult place to play.
