Miami safety Savion Riley has entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.

Riley played the 2023 season at Vanderbilt, before entering the portal and ending up at Miami. He is now on the move once again without playing a snap for the Hurricanes.

Riley signed with Vanderbilt as a three-star prospect and the No. 95 safety in the country in the class of 2022, according to the On3 Industry rankings.

The Georgia native did not see game action in 2022, before moving into a part-time starter role as a redshirt freshman in 2023.

That season, Savion Riley played in eight games, making a pair of starts. He finished the year with 48 tackles, despite missing four games due to injuries. His 48 tackles were the fifth-most on the team.

He attended Kennesaw Mountain High School in Georgia before beginning his college career.

Savion Riley played on both sides of the ball in high school, making more than 50 tackles with an interception on defense as a senior and catching 40 passes for 644 yards and eight touchdowns. He originally chose Vanderbilt over Duke.

Miami OL Jonathan Denis enters NCAA transfer portal

It has been a busy day for Miami with the transfer portal. In addition to Savion Riley, multiple other Hurricanes entered the portal on Monday.

That includes offensive lineman Jonathan Denis.

He started his career at Oregon before going to the Hurricanes.

Denis was recovering from injury last season and saw action in just one game against Temple. He made two starts out of five games played in 2022 for the Hurricanes.

While at Oregon, Denis spent two seasons under Mario Cristobal before following him to Miami. He didn’t see any action in 2020 and redshirted during the 2021 campaign.

As a member of the Class of 2020, Denis was a four-star recruit out of Homestead (Fla.) South Dade, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 54 overall prospect in the state, the No. 12 interior offensive lineman in the class and the No. 330 overall prospect in the class.
