Ohio State Five-Star Plus+ WR commit Jeremiah Smith expected to visit Miami
Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep Five-Star Plus+ wide receiver Jeremiah Smith is expected to make yet another visit to the hometown team this weekend, per a post on social media.
Smith posted an animated graphic featuring the Miami Hurricanes with the caption, “This Weekend.” This will be at least the 10th time that he has visited the ‘Canes as Mario Cristobal’s staff continues to work toward flipping Smith away from Ohio State.
He is the nation’s No. 1 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Spring visit left good impression
Smith’s long list of visits to Miami include a trip this spring.
“I really just wanted to see how everything is down here,” Smith told CaneSport about his spring visit to Miami. “How everything is with the new offensive coordinator, coach (Shannon) Dawson, the new receivers coach, coach KB, coach Kevin Beard, and really just seeing how the offense is and how the coaches are and the scheme they’re running this year. I’m loving it. I’m loving what I’m seeing right now. So let’s just see how the season goes now.”
Smith originally committed to Brian Hartline and the Buckeyes in December last year, and is expected to enroll early in Columbus this winter.
“I want to show them that I’m coming to Ohio State to be one of the best receivers to ever come through Ohio State,” Smith said on an ESPN broadcast in August. “And I’m coming. In January, I definitely will be there. I’m coming to work, definitely. Go Bucks.”

Had a breakout junior season, catching 58 passes for 1,073 yards and 20 touchdowns while leading Chaminade-Madonna to a state title. A very polished route-runner at this stage with rare ability to change directions at his size. Smooth mover with technical refinement that allows for separation.
“Regularly stacks cornerbacks off the line. Pairs his route-running ability with advanced ball skills. Has strong hands and comes down with catches in traffic.
