Report: Suspect arrested in Carson Beck, Hanna Cavinder car theft case

An arrest has reportedly been made in the car thefts yesterday involving Miami’s Carson Beck and Hanna Cavinder.

According to Andy Slater this morning, a man has been arrested for stealing the vehicles. That was after four others in total apparently broke into their home while they were asleep and took their keys.

“SLATER SCOOP: One man has been arrested for stealing Carson Beck’s cars, sources tell me,” Slater tweeted on Friday. “The 20-year-old and three others allegedly broke into Beck’s home while the Hurricanes QB and Cavinder were sleeping. They went into the living room wearing masks and took the keys.”

Three cars were eventually taken per reports with Beck having a Mercedes and a Lamborghini and Cavinder having an SUV. The SUV was found first while the Mercedes was found later in the day. However, the Lamborghini has seemingly yet to be found at this point.

Slater also reported other details of how the thieves did this. They came in through the garage late on Wednesday night or Thursday morning, took their keys from inside the home, and drove the vehicles away.

Cavinder bought the Range Rover within the last month or so to match with Haley Cavinder, her twin sister. Beck had purchased the Lamborghini within the last year as well in February of 2024. However, the home would also be new with Beck having transferred to The ‘U back in January.

Beck came to Miami after five seasons spent at Georgia. He, the No. 1 QB and overall player in On3’s 2025 Top Transfer Portal Players, completed 68.6% of his throws for 7,426 yards, 52 touchdowns, and 18 interceptions as the Bulldogs’ starter the last two years.

Cavinder is then back with the Hurricanes for this season on the court. She’s averaging 6.7 points, 4.3 assists, and 3.2 rebounds as a full-time starter this year alongside her twin sister who is the team’s leader in points and assists.

As a couple, Beck and Cavinder have been together for just over half a year now, which likely played some role in his decision to transfer where he did in the portal. They are together two of the highest-earning athletes in college sports in NIL. Beck has a valuation of $4.3 million while both Cavinders are valuated just below $1 million with their massive followings on social media.

This investigation has come together quickly since this news came yesterday out of South Florida. That includes this arrest now after two of the cars were soon recovered as well.
