Miami lands commitment from Vanderbilt safety Savion Riley
Vanderbilt transfer safety Savion Riley has announced his commitment to Miami per Hayes Fawcett.
The former three-star recruit recently visited Coral Gables, getting to know the Hurricanes’ coaching staff. With two years of eligibility remaining, he will be able to play immediately. With a 6-foot-2, 202-pound frame, he finished this season with 48 tackles in eight games. He missed part of the season with an upper-body injury.
Adding Riley fills a need at the safety position for Miami, too. Starters Kam Kinchens and James Williams are both going pro. The rest of the returners on the current roster do not have the most game experience.
According to Pro Football Focus, when Riley was targeted in coverage opponents completed 14 of 19 passes for 150 yards with two touchdowns.
