Miami head coach Mario Cristobal hasn’t been shy about recruiting all over the country since he took in December, and the quarterback position won’t be any different. The Hurricanes have offered signal-callers in Louisiana, Michigan, Alabama and as of today, three in California. Offensive coordinator Josh Gattis extended an offer to four-star Jaden Rashada on Wednesday, a top-50 overall prospect from Pittsburg, California.

“God is GREAT, All Glory 2 Him! I’m beyond blessed to have received an offer from the University of Miami!” Rashada wrote on Twitter.

Rashada ranks as the No. 47 prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He checks in as the nation’s No. 5 quarterback and the No. 5 junior prospect in California.

The 6-foot-4, 173-pounder is one of the most prized prospects in the country, holding offers from Penn State, Oregon, Ole Miss, UCLA, Oklahoma, LSU and others. He has had a busy six months of visits, hitting Penn State, Ole Miss and Oregon twice each, as well a visit each to UCLA and Washington.

While he doesn’t have the name recognition that some of the other elite quarterback prospects in his class do, Jaden Rashada has put up impressive numbers at the high school level. As a junior last season, he threw for 2,220 yards and 27 touchdowns to just five interceptions. His ability to extend plays with his legs makes him an intriguing prospect for the Hurricanes and Gattis, who left Michigan to run Miami’s offense under Cristobal.
