Tyler Van Dyke leaves game against Florida State with right shoulder injury
Miami starting quarterback Tyler Van Dyke was visibly in pain after attempting a pass from his own end zone in the second quarter against Florida State. He came into Saturday night’s game dealing with a lingering right shoulder injury that kept him out of the Virginia game last weekend. He initially suffered the injury a few weeks ago against the Duke Blue Devils.
Van Dyke was grabbing at his right shoulder shortly after throwing a routine pass from his own end zone in the second quarter. The bad news got worse for Miami fans, as starting offensive lineman Jalen Rivers entered the medical tent after getting rolled up on. He was seen heading to the ‘Canes locker room with medical staff and he could not put any weight on his right leg at all.

Van Dyke was seen warming up after being looked at by the Hurricanes medical staff, trying to work through the shoulder injury. He played a few snaps after injuring the right shoulder, but then left the game again. ‘Canes backup quarterbacks Jake Garcia and Jacurri Brown both took snaps in place of Van Dyke for the rest of the Florida State game.
The ‘Canes trailed Florida State 31-3 at halftime of Saturday’s game and it’s safe to say the first half was a disaster for Miami all around.
