2024 LB Vincent Shavers decommits from Miami
Miami Gardens (Fla.) Central three-star linebacker Vincent Shavers has decommitted from Miami.
Shavers was pledged to the Hurricanes since May 19, when he chose the ACC program over Rutgers and Maryland. He also held offers from the likes of Georgia, Florida, Florida State, Tennessee and Ole Miss.
Shavers is the No. 607 overall prospect and No. 55 linebacker in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 75 player in Florida.
In November, CaneSport’s Stephen Wagner tabbed Shavers as one of ‘five Miami commits who have improved the most this season.’ The 6-foot, 205-pounder showed plenty of upside for Miami Central in 2023.

“Shavers is faster, stronger, more physical and has a much more thorough understanding of his defensive responsibilities after spending the 2023 calendar year under the tutelage of Central head coach Jube Joseph, making stark improvements from the start of the season through the Rockets’ final game,” Wagner wrote. “Shavers hasn’t been in position to recover near the number of turnovers he did last season as Monsignor Pace, but his steady improvement across the board has been worth noting.”
He becomes the second recruit in as many days to part ways with the program, joining Zachary (La.) three-star offensive tackle Kavion Broussard.
