Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep five-star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith has a big game Friday night against Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage. Before kickoff, the 6-foot-3, 185 pound prospect showcased his interest in Miami by warming up in Hurricanes gloves.

Miami has gotten the five-star on campus three times. His most recent trip to Coral Gables was on April 14.

Smith is the No. 5 overall prospect and No. 2 wide receiver in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 3 player from Florida.

The Hurricanes have been recruiting the Florida native hard. Multiple coaches reach out to him, including offensive coordinator Josh Gattis and cornerbacks coach Demarcus Van Dyke.

“What I love about them is it’s a brotherhood up there,” Smith told On3’s Izubee Charles about Miami. “They develop players real good, especially at my receiver position.”

He was most recently on an unofficial visit to Ohio State on Sept. 3. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Buckeyes have a commanding lead to land Smith’s commitment at 96.6%.

Smith has an On3 NIL Valuation of $169K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Jeremiah Smith On3 Scouting Summary

The following is the On3 Scouting Summary for Jeremiah Smith:

“Big, skilled receiver with fluidity and savvy for the position. Measured in at 6-foot-3, 185 pounds prior to his junior season. Had a breakout 2021 season, helping his Chaminade-Madonna team to a state championship. Turned in several strong performances, including a big state title game. Polished route-runner at this early stage. Smooth mover with some technical refinement that allows for separation. Shows good ball skills with his ability to track the football over his shoulder. Does not register as a top athlete in the combine setting at this stage. Can further take advantage of his size by continuing to improve his contested catch skills.”
