After losing to the North Carolina Tar Heels 45-42, Miami head coach Manny Diaz wanted no part of a post game hand shake with North Carolina head coach Mack Brown. In what was one of the more awkward post-game exchanges of the 2021 college football season, Diaz kept looking away as Brown was talking to him.

Quite frankly, Diaz looked like there were about a million other places he’d rather be.

Check it out below.

Talk about awkward. The hilarious part of this exchange is that even though clearly Diaz wanted to leave as soon as possible, Brown grabbed him and kept trying to talk to him.

Keep in mind when both coaches were on the same staff for the Texas Longhorns, Diaz was fired one day after his defense surrendered over 500 rushing yards on the ground to BYU.

Diaz wanted no part of the conversation with Brown on Saturday and it’s easy to see why. His team just loss yet another game in gut-wrenching fashion. In Miami’s previous game, they lost to Virginia 30-28 after their kicker drilled a potential game-winning kick right off the upright as time expired.

Not only would Diaz be upset because his team just lost back-to-back games by a combined five points, but his job is also in serious jeopardy at this point. His record the past three seasons is 15-12 and the Hurricanes continued to be mired in mediocrity. Miami football legends Warren Sapp and Luther Campbell have openly campaigned for Lane Kiffin to be the next head coach at Miami.

Miami continues to disappoint

After entering the season as a Top 25 team, Miami has fallen to 2-4 with losses against Alabama, Michigan State, Virginia, and North Carolina.

It didn’t help that Miami’s best player, D’Eriq King, had to get season-ending shoulder surgery. King was 100 percent right when questioning his head coach’s use of the word “opted’ when talking about his signal-caller’s surgery.

Turnover chain

Miami’s turnover chain has definitely had its fair share of humbling moments for the Hurricanes.

Down 27-0 against Alabama, Miami decided it was time to break out the turnover chain after they forced a turnover while they were getting blowout. But, the call was then overturned, thus the ‘Canes had to put it back in the box.

Manny Diaz name was recently trending on Twitter as fans discussed his future following the heart-breaking loss to North Carolina.

The schedule does not get any easier for the Hurricanes as they face off against N.C. State and Pittsburgh in their next two games, both of which are ranked in the Top 25 currently.
