As the Miami Hurricanes enter a new era, they’re merging their tradition with some beautiful new uniforms. Today, the team unveiled said uniforms for the 2021 season.

“Merging old school tradition with new school threads,” reads the tweet from the team’s Twitter account. “Whether you’re an OG Canes fan or just steppin’ onto campus, there is always a sense of pride representing the orange & green.”

As you can see, the uniforms reveal has pomp and circumstance, as the musical stylings of Jack Harlow and Pooh Shiesty’s single ‘SUVs (Black on Black)’ plays in the background. Moreover, Harlow has a reputation of hyping up the city of Miami, as his song ‘Tyler Herro’ is an ode to the Miami Heat’s young star.

Moving forward, maybe ‘D’Eriq King’ will be an option for the name of Harlow’s next hit single.

As if the Hurricanes’ quarterback wasn’t electrifying enough with his play, now he gets to do it in beautiful new threads.

D’Eriq King is ‘Mr. Conviction’

In addition to the uniforms and King’s much anticipated return from a devastating knee injury, he’s been given a new nickname.

“D’Eriq King is not a question at all. … You would not know that he was injured,” stated Joseph Zagacki, the voice of the Miami Hurricanes, per ACC Network. “Our QB going into Alabama is ‘Mr. Conviction’ because he’s playing with conviction right now.”

Evidently, King’s confidence, ability and swagger have all been on display throughout the summer. If he lives up to his ‘Mr. Conviction’ nickname, the Hurricanes might have a shot against the Alabama Crimson Tide in their opening contest.

“He’s been phenomenal.”

Furthermore, Manny Diaz’s job as the head coach of the Hurricanes is easier with the supremely-talented King at the helm of the offense.

As ‘Mr. Conviction’ works back from a devastating knee injury, Diaz joined Big Noon Kickoff earlier this month to heap praise on the Hurricanes quarterback.

“He’s been phenomenal,” Diaz said, per CFB on Fox on YouTube. “It’s really remarkable to watch him through these first five practices. I mean, you want to talk about picking up right where he left off.

“It didn’t happen by accident. The guy worked as hard as I’ve ever seen anybody work since the day he came out of surgery.”

Evidently, King continues to impress as the summer goes on. For Nick Saban’s sake, the Alabama Crimson Tide can’t take ‘Mr. Conviction’ lightly.

It’s time to get those beautiful orange D’Eriq King jerseys on the shelf of every sporting goods store in Miami. Whether the nameplate reads King, ‘Mr. Conviction’ or future star, his legend grows in 2021.
