The Miami Hurricanes finally got on the scoreboard after running back Cam’Ron Harris dove into the end zone late in the 2nd quarter against Virginia.

Watch as he dives into the end zone after taking the handoff from Tyler Van Dyke.

The touchdown cut the Virginia lead to 9-7 late in the second quarter. Virginia currently leads 16-7 at halftime.

The Canes have been struggling against a Virginia defense that has been more than generous in this season. ESPN’s Chris Fallica noted just how bad Miami’s offense has been Thursday night on Twitter. Check out the stat below.

The good news is the Hurricanes are on the scoreboard. The bad news is they haven’t been able to move the football at all for much of the game.

Miami only was able to muster 94 yards of total offense in the first half against an incredibly generous Virginia defense, as Fallica noted above.

Tyler Van Dyke starts for the ‘Canes

Second-year freshman Tyler Van Dyke started for the second straight week in this game for Miami. He completed 10-of-11 passes for 270 yards and three touchdowns against Central Connecticut State. D’Eriq King remains out with a shoulder injury and Jake Garcia is out with an undisclosed injury.

Knighton is back for Miami

The good news for Miami fans is speedster Jaylan Knighton is back. The speedy tailback is one of the biggest homerun hitters in all of college football once he gets into the open field.

Watch his speed against Louisville last year.

Knighton was suspended earlier in the season for violating team rules.

Knighton was a four-star prospect coming out of Deerfield Beach. He was selected to play in the 2020 Under Armour All-American Game. The Florida native also participated in The Opening in the summer of 2019.
