Kansas State transfer QB Will Howard takes visit to Miami, per report
According to Yahoo’s Ross Dellenger, Kansas State transfer quarterback Will Howard is on campus and visiting the Miami Hurricanes. He will be the first of two quarterbacks to visit Coral Gables this week, with Cam Ward reportedly expected to arrive on Tuesday.
Head coach Mario Cristobal is obviously looking for somebody out of the NCAA transfer portal to be under center next season. Both Howard and Ward are experienced at the Power Five level and whoever winds up committing, they would likely be Miami’s starter heading into spring practice.
According to the On3 2024 transfer portal rankings, Howard and Ward are both top five players to enter thus far. Ward is No. 2 overall, being the best quarterback the transfer portal has to offer. Howard is not too far behind at No. 5 and the third quarterback in the rankings.
Miami is looking to replace Tyler Van Dyke, who entered the portal himself earlier in the cycle. Being able to land one of the two mid-December visitors would bring massive expectations to Year 3 for Cristobal.
