Ellaville (Ga.) Schley County five-star EDGE Zayden Walker is taking an unofficial visit to Miami this weekend. He announced the news Thursday night over Twitter.

Walker is the No. 9 overall prospect and No. 1 EDGE in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in Georgia.

On3 rates Walker higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2025 On300, he is the No. 6 overall prospect in the country.

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound pass rusher holds nearly 30 offers. He has already visited multiple schools this spring, including Alabama, Auburn, Georgia and South Carolina.

“First of all, the staff, how long the staff is going to be there,” Walker told On3’s Chad Simmons on April 10 about what is most important in his recruitment. “The teammates and the kind of people I will have around me and the place, what’s around. It’s not only the facility, but everything that’s around it.”

Walker discusses a few schools of interest

Georgia is one school that has already hosted Walker. He told Simmons on Nov. 6 that he has seen the Bulldogs around 10 times.

“Georgia plays well in big games,” Walker said. “It knows how to win big games. The coaches put a great plan together, the team was prepared, they executed and they went out there and handled their business.

“Georgia fans are elite, the coaches are elite and the team is elite at Georgia. They felt they had something to prove by being ranked No. 3 last week and they went out there and did what I expected them to do against Tennessee.”

“Georgia is an elite team,” he added. “The fans are great, it was a great atmosphere and my interest is high on them. There is nothing I don’t like about Georgia. The people are great and I feel very comfortable there.

“I have my eye on Georgia. It is a great school with great coaches, great players and it is a place I will keep going back to.”

Florida State is another program that Walker is looking at. He also spoke with Jeffrey Lee of Auburn Live on March 27 about his trip to see the Tigers.

Auburn: “It’s my first time being in the new facilities and I was really impressed. The visit was great.”

Florida State: “We’ve been connected all these months. It really just feels like a home, it feels real comfortable. I’m comfortable with all the coaches.”
