2024 OT Logan Bennett decommits from Michigan State Spartans
Baltimore St. Frances Academy three-star offensive tackle Logan Bennett has announced that he has decommitted from the Michigan State Spartans.
Bennett initially pledged to Michigan State back in April. The university officially fired head coach Mel Tucker in late September, stemming from allegations of sexual misconduct by Tucker. On the field, Michigan State has struggled to a 3-6 record with No. 1 Ohio State on deck.
Bennett is the nation’s No. 1,536 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is the cycle’s No. 109 offensive tackle and No. 46 player from Maryland.
“First and foremost I appreciate the opportunity that Michigan State has given me but I will be decommitting from Michigan State,” Bennett wrote on social media. “I would like to thank the coaching staff especially, coach (Chris Kapilovic) and coach (Jacob Lail) for all time they put into me and much love to the Spartan fan base.”

Bennett does not currently have a publicly listed On3 NIL Valuation. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
Michigan State trying to recover in 2024 cycle
The list of decommitments coming out of East Lansing continues to lengthen. Bennett is the sixth former Spartan commit to reopen his recruitment this cycle. Miami Norland four-star cornerback Jamari Howard decommitted back in May. Centerville (Ohio) four-star safety Reggie Powers left the class in late September before pledging to Oklahoma.
Mount Pleasant (Michigan) four-star interior offensive lineman Andrew Dennis, Syracuse (N.Y.) Christian Brothers Academy three-star wide receiver Syair Torrence and Tampa Bay Tech three-star cornerback Camren Campbell still have open recruitments.
