4-star IOL Andrew Dennis decommits from Michigan State
Mount Pleasant (Mich.) four-star interior offensive lineman Andrew Dennis has decommitted from Michigan State.
The 6-foot-4, 285-pounder had been committed to the Spartans since April 8 and was one of the highest-ranked pledges in Michigan State’s 2024 recruiting class. Dennis’ decommitment follows Michigan State’s firing of head coach Mel Tucker following a Title IX investigation into his conduct.
“As everyone knows, the fear of the unknown is scary. When you are a recruit and trying to plan your future, it is even more so. After patiently monitoring the situation and many conversations with my parents and everyone who has supported me through this process, at this time I have decided to decommit from MSU and reopen my recruitment,” Dennis wrote.
…I will still be considering MSU as one of my choices though. I would like to thank the entire MSU coaching staff and support staff for the opportunity to be a Spartan. I would especially like to thank Coach Kap and Coach Lail for investing so much time into my recruiting process and believing in me as a football player and a person. I will be forever grateful to both of you! I would also like to thank the Spartan fans and community for all the love and support. Much love to you Spartan Nation.”
Dennis is the No. 327 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 24 IOL and No. 7 player in Michigan.

Dennis took visits to Illinois, Cincinnati, Minnesota, and Penn State this spring. He also took multiple visits to Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Michigan during his recruiting process, but the three schools never extended an offer. The visits ultimately led Dennis back to East Lansing where he visited and then committed.
Before Tucker’s firing, Michigan State’s 2024 class ranked No. 43 in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Ranking. Dennis was one of 13 total commits and one of three in-state pledges. He now joins Dayton (Ohio) Centerville four-star safety Reggie Powers as decommitments from the Spartans.
Dennis does not currently have an On3 NIL Valuation. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
