Michigan State quarterback Aidan Chiles exited Saturday’s game against Nebraska early in the second quarter after taking an awkward looking sack in the redzone.

He headed towards the injury tent and was replaced by freshman quarterback Alessio Milivojevic. Milivojevic finished off the drive nicely with a two-yard passing touchdown to tight end Jack Velling to cut Nebraska‘s 14-0 lead in half.

“I do not like this from the Michigan State offensive line,” FS1 commentator Devin Gardner said on the broadcast. “Of course, sometimes you get beat but you can’t just watch your quarterback get attacked and not be like ‘oh, he’s down on the ground.”

UPDATE: Aidan Chiles returned to the game on the next Michigan State drive.

Aidan Chiles spent about five minutes in the tent getting evaluated by the medical team,” said FS1 sideline reporter Josh Sims. “Came out of it and the first thing he did was go over to (Alessio) Milivojevic and give him a big chest bump after that touchdown pass. He dove back into the gameplan, grabbed his helmet and he’s back on the field.”

This is certainly great news, as Chiles has been a bright spot for an otherwise disappointing Michigan State team. Prior to his exit, Chiles was 6/11 passing for 57 yards. On the season, the former Oregon State transfer boasts 925 passing yards, nine passing touchdowns and one interception.
