Four-Star Safety Reggie Powers commits to Michigan State

Four-star safety Reggie Powers of Dayton (OH) Centerville High announced his commitment to Michigan State Wednesday afternoon.
The 6-foot-1, 196 pounder chose the Spartans over Ohio State, Pitt, and Northwestern.
Powers on why he chose Michigan State
“As soon as I stepped foot on campus it felt like home to be honest,” Powers said. “Everything about the coaches, players, and culture felt welcoming and family-like. The players were very real with me with anything I asked. I feel like my fit in the defense is perfect, which shows my versatility with covering and being aggressive in the run fit at the nickel position. Coach Barnett has experience in the NFL at DB and is a great coach and an even better person.”
His relationship with his position coach played a huge role in his decision to commit to MSU
I am the closest with coach Barnett, my position coach, for Nickel. He is the first person I ever talked to from MSU. He came to my showcase on May 1st and offered me then, and since then we have talked almost everyday and built a great relationship. They plan on using me as a nickel that can also play safety too and blitz off the edge.”
What MSU is getting in Reggie Powers
“A player that is going to show up everyday to compete and work as hard as possible, and when it comes game day, MAKE PLAYS!”
