Former Oregon State TE Jack Velling commits to Michigan State
Former Oregon State tight end Jack Velling committed to Michigan State, following head coach Jonathan Smith to East Lansing. Velling announced the news on social media on Monday.
Velling played two seasons with the Beavers, totaling 23 games. He had 45 catches, 719 yards, 11 touchdowns and 16 yards per catch.
Despite the yardage not being mind-boggling, Velling reeled in eight touchdowns this fall, making him one of the more productive tight ends in college football.
As a member of the Class of 2022, Velling was a three-star recruit out of Seattle (Was.) Prep School, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 13 overall prospect in the state, the No. 47 tight end in the class and the No. 813 overall prospect in the class.
