Four-star center Jesse McCulloch sets official visit to Michigan State
Jesse McCulloch, a four-star center in the class of 2024, will take his first official visit to Michigan State on March 3-5.
The Spartans hosted the 6-foot-9 big man out of Cleveland (Ohio) Luthern East for an unofficial visit last month and he’s since decided to return to East Lansing for another trip in the official capacity.
Along with Michigan State, McCulloch also holds offers from Michigan, Indiana, Alabama, Ohio State, and others.
McCulloch has unofficially visited seven programs: Ohio State, Michigan, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Alabama, Indiana, and of course, Michigan State.
The class of 2024 prospect ranks as the No. 162 overall prospect according to the On3 Consensus, the average ranking from all four major recruiting media companies (ESPN, 247Sports, Rivals, On3). However, On3’s evaluators are much higher on him, ranking him 91st overall in the class.

McCulloch talks MSU
In a previous interview with On3, McCulloch gave his thoughts on the Spartans.
“The way the coaches keep in contact with my family and me, that is one of my favorite things about the program. I’ve been watching them a lot this year. Coach (Tom) Izzo told me I’m going to be able to come in and do pick and pops. Basically, just play my game, and it fits in with what they do.”
McCulloch’s timeline for a commitment and what he is looking for in a school
“I’m thinking about ending my recruitment a little early for my family,” McCulloch said. “I don’t know exactly when yet, but like earlier in 2023, probably.
“I want to go somewhere that feels like home. A place where I can make mistakes on the court but still be allowed to play through them. Style of play will matter, kind of. I really want to go into a system where I can play my game and learn from a coach to be great.”
