Malik Hall OUT vs. Purdue, will be 'out a while' after re-injuring ankle
Bad news out of East Lansing ahead of Michigan State’s MLK Day game game against Purdue. Just before tip-off of the Spartans’ matchup vs. Purdue, head coach Tom Izzo broke the news that veteran forward Malik Hall is OUT against the Boilermakers and will be out for the foreseeable future. Here was Izzo’s comment on the matter, as reported by Chris Solari:
“MSU coach Tom Izzo says Malik Hall ‘is gonna be out for a while, maybe a long while’ with his left foot injury suffered at Illinois on Friday. ‘The preliminary stuff did not look great.’ Not playing today.”
Hall had already missed roughly a month earlier in the year with an ankle injury. But he returned for the start of Big Ten play before re-aggravating the injury against Illinois over the weekend. Now, it sounds like he’ll be sidelined for a significant amount of time.
Tough break for the senior forward, who was having a good season before the health derailments.
