Michigan State tight end Maliq Carr has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. He is coming off his third season with the Spartans and put up the best numbers of his career.

Carr started his career at Purdue, but transferred to Michigan State ahead of the 2021 season. This past year, he set a new career high with 352 receiving yards and three touchdowns in 10 appearances. Those numbers put him second on the roster behind Montorie Foster, who was the Spartans’ leading receiver with 576 yards.

All told, during his time in East Lansing, Carr hauled in 54 receptions for 696 yards and five touchdowns. With Purdue, he only appeared in three games, totaling one catch for 15 yards.

Maliq Carr played high school football at Oak Park (MI) High School, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 176 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
