River Rouge (Mich.) four-star Michigan State wide receiver commit Nick Marsh was scheduled to take an official visit to Colorado this upcoming weekend. That visit is no longer happening, he told SpartanMag.com.

Marsh said that he is not looking to schedule any more visits after having taken visits to Colorado and Georgia Tech this fall.

The 6-foor-3, 200-pound Marsh recommitted to MSU on July 7. He is the nation’s No. 115 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Marsh is the cycle’s No. 21 wide receiver and No. 3 recruit from Michigan.

Marsh has remained committed to a Spartans class that took a hit following the dismissal of former head coach Mel Tucker. Now, Michigan State is looking to get back on track with the hiring of former Oregon State head coach Jonathan Smith.

MSU has ‘hometown advantage’

Marsh originally decommitted from Michigan State in March before once again committing to MSU in July.

“Honestly, I’m not even sure if it was the ‘OV’ that did it,” Marsh told On3 in July. “It was just a long talk and conversation that I had with my mom. We just got to breaking down the pros and cons. Michigan State stood on top, so that was one of the biggest factors. The pros and cons of it — just being close to home, having that hometown advantage sometimes. I’ve got people who root for me close by, so that fanbase is going to be a lot bigger. That part really stood out to me.

“Another thing is, I know that I could go to Michigan State and I could be that guy. That was another big thing about it. That’s what I want to do with going to college, I just want to be that guy and get noticed. I want to be noticed, I think that’s the best place to do it.”
