Michigan State Spartans defensive back Eddie Pleasant has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, per On3’s Pete Nakos.

As a recruit, Pleasant was the No. 837 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranked as the nation’s No. 80 cornerback and the No. 128 junior in the state of Florida.

“I have dreamed of this moment since I was a child and now it is here,” Pleasant wrote in his announcement, when he originally committed to Michigan State. “First, I want to give thanks to my lord and savior for blessing me with so much. None of this would be possible without him. Next I would like to thank my parents who have sacrificed so much for me to be in this position. I am so grateful and thankful for their endless support.

… Also, I would like to thank all of my coaches and trainers that have helped me throughout this journey. I would like to give a special thanks to Coach McDuffie and my entire coaching staff at Carrollwood Day School. I want to thank all my teammates/brothers for challenging me to become a better me on and off the field. Thank you to all the schools who recruited and believed in me. The process has been a dream come true. Hard work, dedication, and faith have allowed me to get to this point. For the next 3-4 years.. I am blessed to continue my academic and athletic journey at Michigan State University! Go Spartans!!”

The 5-foot-11, 178-pounder chose Michigan State over offers from Florida State, Penn State, Tennessee, Iowa and more than a dozen other programs.

Of course, a ton changed at Michigan State since Eddie Pleasant originally committed. We’ll see where he ends up in 2024, as he moves forward with his collegiate career.
