Michigan State cornerback Charles Brantley won’t be leaving East Lansing after all. Brantley has withdrawn his name from the transfer portal, On3 had learned.

He had been considering Boston College and Mississippi State, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.

Brantley started the first three games of the 2023 season but missed the last nine due to an injury. During those first three games he recorded 10 tackles, 1 tackle for loss and a pass breakup.

The Florida native signed with Michigan State as a three-star recruit and the No. 591 overall player in the country in the class of 2021, according to the On3 Industry rankings.

Charles Brantley immediately made an impact for the Spartans that season, playing in eight games and making one start, before being lost for the year to a season-ending injury. He recorded 18 tackles and four pass breakups as a freshman.

Brantley moved into a starting role in 2022 and started all 11 games he played in, before an injury forced him to miss the regular season finale against Penn State. He finished the 2022 season with 48 tackles and a team-high six pass breakups.
