Michigan State EDGE Bai Jobe enters NCAA transfer portal
Michigan State EDGE rusher Bai Jobe entered the NCAA transfer portal. He spent one season with the Spartans.
Jobe appeared in just one game last season for the Spartans. He played in the 41-7 loss to Washington and registered one tackle.
As a member of the Class of 2023, Jobe was a four-star recruit out of Norman (Okla.) Community Christian School, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 1 overall prospect in the state, the No. 10 EDGE rusher in the class and the No. 69 overall prospect in the class.
Jobe moved to the United States in 2018 from Senegal and learned football on the internet.
“Even though I don’t know everything about football I know a lot because I started to go to YouTube and Google and stuff like that,” Jobe said.
His high school coach Mat McIntosh just let his former player fly, immediately putting him on college radars.

Bai Jobe enters transfer portal, HC Jonathan Smith unbothered by departures
On Saturday, two days after honorable mention All-Big Ten defensive tackle Simeon Barrow re-entered the transfer portal – presumably gone for good this time – head coach Jonathan Smith was asked indirectly about life as a college football coach when a player suddenly opts away from the team, just before the end of the spring practice season.
“Roster is always going to be fluid,” Smith said, with a slight smile and not a hint of resentment. “So we’ll see how the dust settles here in a week and a half. We are always going to be looking to add quality to our roster, really at all positions.”
On Monday, second-string wide receiver Antonio Gates Jr. entered the transfer portal. Gates had five catches last year and was credited by coaches last week with having a productive, encouraging spring.
And now, Jobe is off to the portal and will seemingly choose a new school to continue his career.
