The 2023 college football season is rapidly approaching, and it can’t come soon enough for fan bases across the country.

The Michigan State Spartans found a way to get their fans excited on Friday evening, as they unveiled some new uniforms for this season, including their “Shadow” uniforms, the back and green combo.

Check out the video below.

The video above is very well done and does an excellent job of showing you the finer details of the uniforms.

If you wanted to take a look at a picture of the uniforms instead of watching the video, here’s one of the pictures from their special uniform unveiling.

The black “Shadow” uniforms look pretty nice with the mixture of black and green. It looks like they widened the stripe on the middle of their helmets. It’s not a substantial difference, but a minor detail. The white and green ones are also a nice touch. They have white pants and white helmets with the green stripe down the middle. There’s not much noticeable difference with the uniforms on the left side of the picture, other than the white pants on the far left and the green pants right beside it.

For fans that want to buy the new Michigan State football uniforms, they are on their website here. For more on what Greg McElroy thinks of the Spartans heading into the 2023 campaign, check out the article below from On3’s Justin Rudolph.

Greg McElroy projected Michigan State to win over 4.5 games

College football expert Greg McElroy is breaking down the over-under win totals for programs across the nation. And on a recent episode of his podcast, Always College Football, the former Alabama quarterback went projected the win total for the Michigan State Spartans. The Spartans are not expected to be contenders in 2023, which is why their win projection is currently at 4.5. And McElroy has decided to choose over 4.5 wins for his projection for them for this year.

“There at 4.5. Now, if you would’ve asked me at the end of 2021, Michigan State is going to have a 4.5-win total. What are you betting? Over, by a mile,” said McElroy. “Given just how they play. (In) 2021, you had a nine-win improvement; you had a Peach Bowl victory; you had a top ten final ranking; you had all the momentum in the world going for you there in East Lansing. The problem is, in 2022, one of the biggest strengths, pass defense… regressed significantly. And they couldn’t run the football. Not a great place to start.”

In 2021, it appeared as if head coach Mel Tucker had re-established the Spartans as one of the dominant teams of the Big Ten alongside rivals Ohio State and Michigan. Unfortunately, the Spartans had a significant drop-off in 2022, going 5-7. And because of that, McElroy wonders if maybe Michigan State belongs in the conversation with the Marylands of the Big Ten instead of the Penn States, challenging the Wolverines and Buckeyes for supremacy in the conference.

It’ll be interesting to see how MSU competes this season, as they adjust to life without Payton Thorne.
