Michigan State football gets their first look at new locker room
It is an exciting time to be a part of the Michigan State Spartans football program. On Wednesday, the team got their first look at their brand new locker room area located in the Tom Izzo Football Building. In the video below, you can see the Spartan football players led into their stylish new locker room by head coach Mel Tucker.
Once the Spartans’ headman opens the door, uncontainable excitement comes bursting through from the crowd of players behind him. The video is courtesy of Michigan State star linebacker Darius Snow and was uploaded to their X team page.
There are several things Snow highlights in his video, including the pull as they first enter the locker room and their fully stocked refreshment wall. But the crown jewel of the video is their state-of-the-art locker area. Each individual locker is highlighted with Spartan green and green LED lights. It also has a compartment overhead for the player’s shoulder pads and one below filled with their gym shoes and some cleats. They also have comfortable, spacious seating, and the head area opens up to another compartment where you can see Snow’s gym shirts and shorts folded up. Last but not least, their cleats are on a sliding shelf just to the side of the locker seats.
Construction began on the 65,000-square-foot building back in April of 2022. The total cost of the renovation of the Michigan State Football Building is roughly $78 million. Phase one of the project is already complete, and the school expects phase two to be finished sometime in October of 2023.

Michigan State football unveils new uniforms ahead of 2023 season
Not only did Michigan State football get a new locker room, but they also got some new threads as well. The Spartans got their fans excited for the season late in July, as they unveiled some new uniforms for this season, including their “Shadow” uniforms, the back and green combo.
The black “Shadow” uniforms look pretty nice with the mixture of black and green. It looks like they widened the stripe on the middle of their helmets. It’s not a substantial difference, but a minor detail. The white and green ones are also a nice touch. They have white pants and white helmets with the green stripe down the middle. There’s not much noticeable difference with the uniforms on the left side of the picture, other than the white pants on the far left and the green pants right beside it.
